Management of Patient Care Personnel:
Maybe responsible for recruitment, interviewing and selection of departmental staff in collaboration of Chief of Nursing.
Provide leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goal and objective.
Provide professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, encouraging education formal and continuity efforts and evaluation of it.
Responsible for regular performance of evaluation of each staff, conduct, competency assessment and evaluates new staff as per the schedule of the organization.
Council employees develop staff and as appropriate utilize the disciplinary process.
Plan and maintain staffing pattern for the meeting the patients need for continuity of care and level of care.
Management of Department:
Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of employees
Collaborates with other support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staffs and visitors.
Evaluate and set standard facilities and equipment. Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies.
Promote open communication within the unit and other unit services.
Plan and conduct staff meeting as and when required.
Provide assistance for Emergency procedure.
Co-ordinate and collaborate with clinical team while carrying out comprehensive care to the patient.
Responsible for handling crisis management in the ward.
Ensure correct billing and posting done in the HIS.
Management of Patient Care:
Participate in quality assessment and improvement, including utilization and promotion of quality standard of the department.
Organizes patient care and ensures continuity of care based upon knowledge of patients need.
Evaluate patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, written documentation.
Administer nursing care to patient as needed to maintain clinical skills.
Assume the role of patient advocate in respective guideline on patient gill and rights.
Serve as a clinical resource person in assessing planned patient care.
Provide mechanism to assure patient and significant other participation in care plan.
Provide professional growth and development of staff.
Provide direction for teaching of patient and their relatives.
Co-operate with clinical care team in planning, implementation, evaluation of student clinical exposures.
Assume responsibility for own personal and continuity education by attending, meeting workshops etc to enrich personal knowledge growth and skill for providing skilled patient care.
Serve as a resource to others.
Serve on committed inpatient care/ OPD care.
Support and participate quality improvement programme.
Fosters good public relation to the department.
Maintain a professional appearance and act as a role model to others.
Ensure grief Management.
